Vauxhall has restructured its fleet team appointing James Taylor as fleet sales director and creating a new role for Maurice Howkins.

Taylor, who has been at Vauxhall for almost 12 years moves from his current position as national fleet sales and contract hire manager.

He said: "This is an exciting opportunity for me to oversee Vauxhall’s fleet sales team, which comes at an important time in the company’s history.

"We have the strongest product portfolio ever, including the award winning new Meriva, new Astra and Insignia, in addition to the best selling Ecoflex range, with a long list of new launches to look forward to, particularly our first electric car, Ampera."

He added that he was looking forward to the introuction of sub-100g/km versions of the Astra and sub-120g/km versions of the Insignia over the next few months.

Howkins, who was inducted into the Fleet News Hall of Fame in 2011, will move from his role as fleet sales director to become fleet sales customer relationship director.

Both Howkins and Taylor will report directly to Vauxhall managing director Duncan Aldred.
