Jaguar has unveiled its production-ready F-Pace SUV, priced from £34,170, at the Frankfurt motor show.
Featuring the company's Ingenium engine line, powertrains consist of a 180PS 2.0-litre diesel in both manual RWD and AWD, as well as automatic AWD; 300PS 3.0-litre diesel automatic AWD; and a 380PS 3.0-litre petrol automatic AWD.
The rear-wheel drive 180PS 2.0-litre diesel manual transmission model weighs 1,665kg and achieves CO2 emissions of 129g/km.
Trim levels available at launch include Prestige, R-Sport, Portfolio, S and First Edition.
The First Edition, priced at £65,275 in the UK, will be available in limited numbers – just 2,000 worldwide, with 200 available in the UK. Powered by the 300PS 3.0-litre V6 diesel engine, the First Edition is distinguished by a unique metallic paint colour – Caesium Blue. The model also includes 22-inch Double Helix 15-spoke wheels with Grey finish and contrast inserts, Adaptive Dynamics, Adaptive LED headlights, Gloss Black fender vents and a panoramic roof.
The F-Pace includes a strong level of active safety driver assistance systems. The stereo camera at the heart of the Autonomous Emergency Braking system now features a pedestrian detection function – a Jaguar-first. The stereo camera also enables Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, an Intelligent Speed Limiter, and Driver Condition Monitor systems.
Built alongside the Jaguar XE at the company’s flagship Solihull manufacturing plant, the model has resulted in an additional £120m of investment in the facility. This takes the total amount invested in Solihull’s ‘factory within a factory’ to £620m – the largest investment in the 70 year history of the Midlands based plant.
The UK supply chain has benefited from Jaguar’s product expansion with a total of £13 billion worth of UK supplier contracts awarded, with £5bn connected to the F-PACE alone.
The car is available to order now, with deliveries early next year.
