POD Point, a provider of charge points for electric and hybrid cars, has announced a partnership with Volkswagen to be their recommended supplier of home and workplace charge points in the UK.
Anyone purchasing a plug-in vehicle from Volkswagen in the UK will have access to POD Point’s range of home charge points and installation services. POD Point will also help get charging stations installed at the customer’s place of work and highlight the benefits that electric vehicles can bring to their organisation.
Volkswagen now offer a number of plug-in vehicles, including electric and plug-in hybrid versions of the Golf (the Golf GTE & e-Golf) and E-Up.
Erik Fairbairn, founder and CEO of POD Point, said: “At POD Point, our mission has always been to prove that travel doesn’t have to damage the earth. We are excited about working with Volkswagen on their drive towards electric motoring and look forward to providing Volkswagen drivers with our usual outstanding service and customer support.”
POD Point has grown from a £4.5m to a £6.5m turnover business in the past two years. It has shipped over 20,000 charge points and supplied over 12 million miles of electric motoring. This rapid growth has earned the company a spot in the 2015 Sunday Times Tech Track 100 list of the UK’s fastest growing tech companies.
