SEAT’s most powerful car ever is here – the 240bhp Leon Cupra.

Powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre engine, the Cupra is the range-topping Leon and promises 0-62mph acceleration in 6.4 seconds and a top speed of 153mph.

To set it apart from the recently launched Leon FR, the hot Cupra features a deeper front bumper with larger air intakes, rear diffusers to stick the car to the ground and a polished steel exhaust pipe. There are also bespoke 18-inch alloy wheels, sportier front seats and metal pedals.

Engineering changes include stiffer suspension and reduced weight.

The Cupra will make its world debut at this week’s British International Motor Show in London before going on sale in January. Expect a price tag around the £20,000 mark.
