Five people have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the industry by entering the Fleet News Hall of Fame at the recent FN50 Awards.

The founder of Swan National and the man who led the management buyout of EuroDollar in the early-90s, Freddie Aldous, entered the Hall of Fame for his dedication to the industry, which also includes his long-term commitment to the support of the BVRLA, where he has been president since 1984 and is now life president. Freddie has already received lifetime achievement awards from Fleet News and the BVRLA.

John Leigh - a leading figure in the vehicle rental industry – has also entered the Hall of Fame. He is a former chairman of the BVRLA and is currently vice president of industry charity BEN. He is also the chairman of Europcar. His trophy cabinet includes a staggering 16 Fleet News Awards.

The Fleet News leasing personalities of the year from the past three years - Nigel Stead, managing director of Lex Autolease; Jon Walden, the former managing director at Lex; and Roddy Graham, commercial director at Leasedrive Velo and ICFM chairman - have all also entered the hall.

The Fleet News Hall of Fame recognises and honours those people that have made an outstanding contribution to the fleet sector during their career.

The first inauguration was John Bradley, fleet manager at Hampshire Constabulary.
