Trimble has created an in-vehicle monitoring solution – the Driver DNA box – which provides real-time information on driver behaviour, vehicle condition, fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions.

It also provides traditional GPS data on vehicle position and activity, giving a 360 degree view of a fleet’s usage and performance.

Using the data, companies can then analyse and compare performance to gain an understanding of where action needs to be taken on anything from driver style to vehicle servicing.

A spokesman said: “The Driver DNA box solves the issue many companies have of running multi-vehicle fleets and wanting to implement GPS tracking and vehicle diagnostics.

“With the ability to work across all vehicle makes, models and types, businesses can now benefit from having a common solution across all their fleet – from HGVs to vans and cars.”
