Inchcape Fleet Solutions has secured a place on the three separate ‘lots’ of the new national fleet management services framework agreement.

The new agreement established by Buying Solutions, the national procurement partner for UK public services which until earlier this year was known as OGCbuyingsolutions, went live on November 2, 2009.

It is the first time that a Pan Government Collaborative Procurement for Fleet Management Services framework agreement has been established so marks the introduction of a one-stop-shop for public sector fleet requirements.

Until now there has been a multitude of agreements across the public sector focusing on a range of services within fleet management, but none that offered organisations the ability to draw all the benefits from these agreements through one source.

The new framework agreement covers three ‘lots’:

  • Lot 1 embraces fleet maintenance services, roadside assistance, administration, accident management, fuel card administration, insurance management, fines management, acquisition and disposal of vehicles and the provision of management information.
  • Lot 2 fleet audit and consultancy such as policy development, duty of care and technology.
  • Lot 3 embraces similar services as ‘lot 1’, but includes the potential for contract hire with guaranteed maintenance and will require suppliers to have a higher level of security clearance.

Following a competitive tender process, Inchcape Fleet Solutions is among five companies that have been approved as ‘lot 1’ suppliers and 10 companies as ‘lot 2’ suppliers. The contracts for both ‘lots’ are for two years with a two-year option to extend.

However, it is also the sole supplier for ‘lot 3’ vehicles and services, which comes with a four-year contract.
