Tool and equipment hire company Speedy has invested £2.8 million on 110 Ford Transit T350 Dropside Pick Up vehicles.

The new delivery vehicle fleet has already begun service, transporting equipment between Speedy’s 400 nationwide depots and customer project sites.

The vans are equipped with raised safety bars on each side and at the rear in order to prevent falls from the vehicles as equipment is off-loaded.

The vehicles also feature reflective chevron graphics which are compliant with Chapter 8 of the Department for Transport’s Traffic Signs Manual in order to maximise their visibility.

Ian Leonard, fleet services director, at Speedy said: "Falls are among the most common vehicle-related accidents in the workplace or on site, and this investment will dramatically improve the safety of both Speedy employees and our customers."
