Manufacturers make carbon-cutting a priority for 2010, and fleets looking to cut CO2 emissions will find savings in every sector.

Alfa Romeo
The replacement for the 147, the Giulietta, will go on sale in the UK next summer. All models feature stop-start emissions reducing technology and there will be a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines.

Audi
The new A8 luxury saloon goes on sale in March and will include a sub-160g/km of CO2 model. At the other end of the size scale, the A1 supermini will go on sale in October with downsized 1.2 and 1.4-litre engines.

BMW
The 320d EfficientDynamics saloon offering 109g/km CO2 emissions opens for orders in January, with deliveries in March. Around the same time there may be engine revisions to other 3 Series models. New 5 Series goes on sale in March, with an estate version due in September. There will also be mild facelifts of the 3 Series Coupe and Convertible models early in the year.

Chevrolet
The all-new Spark supermini arrives in March, offering a budget price to appeal to younger buyers. Engine choices will be 1.0 or 1.2-litre petrols with sub-120g/km CO2 emissions. Prices will start at around £6,000.

Citroen
2010 will see the launch of Citroen’s DS sub-brand. The first car to appear will be the DS3 in March. Based on the C3 supermini, the DS3 will go head-to-head with the Mini. January will see the launch of the new C3 range. Later next year, Citroen will launch the C-Zero – its rebadged version of the electric Mitsubishi i-Miev.

Fiat
The facelifted Punto range, now called Punto Evo, goes on sale in January. Prices start at £10,995 and all models comes with stop-start technology.

Ford
The new C-Max, to be offered with both five and seven seats, is due to arrive next September and will debut the new EcoBoost low emission petrol engines. These will also find their way into the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo. January sees the launch of the new Focus Econetic model with 99g/km of CO2. Late in 2010 we should get details of the new Focus model, due on sale in 2011.

Honda
A facelifted version of the CR-V arrives in January, now using the Euro V diesel engine from the Accord. The CR-Z hybrid coupe will be launched in April in the UK, followed later in 2010 by the Jazz hybrid supermini.

Hyundai
January sees the launch of a revised i30 with the option of stop-start technology which brings CO2 emissions down to 110g/km. The Santa Fe receives a facelift, while the ix35 is a value alternative to the Nissan Qashqai.

Jaguar
Deliveries of the all-new XJ luxury saloon start in April, with the V6 diesel offering 184g/km and 40.1mpg.

Kia
The Venga, a tall supermini, arrives in February alongside the new Sorento SUV which will feature a new, more efficient 2.2-litre diesel engine. Around August, Kia will introduce the new Sportage SUV.

Lexus
January sees the introduction of the F Sport trim level – Lexus’s answer to S line and M Sport – for the IS model. Next winter the production version of the
LF-Ch hybrid model is scheduled to appear, bringing Lexus into direct competition with the Audi A3 and BMW 1 Series.

Mercedes-Benz
The E-Class estate range goes on sale in Janaury with engine and trim levels mirroring those of the saloon. Expect CO2 emissions of less than 140g/km.

Mini
No firm plans announced, but expect the Mini range to grow with a jacked-up five-door Crossman model.

Nisan
Five new models are due in next 12 months: the 370Z Roadster in March, new Micra, the funky Cube city car in January, NV200 van and the Qazana – a small crossover model due to be revealed in October.

Peugeot
2010 will be a year of niche models for Peugeot, with the 3008 being joined by the 5008 MPV in January, the RC-Z coupe in April and the electric iOn – in the summer.
Renault
A sub-100g/km version of the Clio is due early next year, while the Megane CC with a folding metal hardtop will arrive in May.

Saab
If a buyer is found for Saab, the new 9-5 could arrive in the second half of the year.

Seat
The Ibiza Sport Tourer arrives in March, and will feature sub-120g/km of CO2 engines. December will see the launch of the new Alhambra MPV.

Skoda
Skoda’s biggest ever car – the Superb estate – arrives in February. Offering up to 1,865 litres of luggage space, it will be one of the roomiest cars offered in the UK.

Toyota
The UK-built Auris Hybrid goes on sale in September, using technology from the Prius as its base.

Vauxhall
A Corsa ECOflex with 98g/km arrives in January, alongside wholesale revisions to the range with lower emission engines and revised trim levels. Further versions of the new Astra will arrive, including an ECOflex model with 109g/km in the spring, and a Sports Tourer estate in the second half of the year.

Volkswagen
New BlueMotion versions of the Polo, Golf and Passat arrive in January, while the Amarok pick-up truck is due in September. Expect a new version of the Sharan at some point during 2010, and also we will get first details of the new Passat at the end of the year.

Volvo
The all-new S60 will be launched in summer of 2010. The facelifted C30 and C70 models go on sale in January, including a 99g/km C30 DRIVe version.
