The Retail Motor Industry Federation (RMIF) has announced it is looking at ways to enhance its services to meet the demands of a changing industry, following the appointment of Rob Foulston as chief executive.

Mr Foulston, who took charge of the RMIF this month, is combining his new role with his existing position of chief executive of ReMIT, the training arm of the RMIF.

He has been tasked with refocusing and where necessary expanding the RMIF's member services, and together with ReMIT has embarked upon a strategy to provide a broader range of services to the automotive sector.

“The RMIF is evolving to meet the challenges of the time and the expectations of a changing retail motor sector,” said Mr Foulston.

“We are looking at what we currently offer our members and how this offering can be enhanced.

“My intention is to take a look at our existing range of member benefits and where necessary introduce new products that will support current members, attract new members and further strengthen the RMIF's already strong market position.”

The RMIF and ReMIT are currently developing a range of new services, including financial services and communication opportunities.

There will also soon be an announcement regarding a new ReMIT venture that will provide additional services to the industry.

Meanwhile, the first RAC Service and MoT Centre has signed up to join the RMIF.

The centre, based in Norwich, opened 18 months ago.
