Nissan has unveiled its new small van, the NV200, which will be exclusive to the marque.

At present, Nissan’s van models are largely rebadged Renaults.

The NV200 will have a load capacity of 4.1 cubic metres, pitching it against the likes of the Citroën Dispatch and Peugeot Expert.

There will be a choice of two engines, one petrol and one diesel.

The petrol will be a 1.6-litre unit offering 109bhp, as found in Micra, Note and Qashqai.

The diesel, also found on Note and Micra, is Renault’s 1.5 dCi with 86bhp.

“The Nissan LCV business is in a phase of expansion even in these challenging financial circumstances,” said Andy Palmer, senior vice-president, global product planning, at Nissan.

“We aim to expand our business with smart new products and services that meet the needs of our customers, both in Europe and around the world.”

The NV200 will be launched in Europe in the autumn.
