Mazda is the twelfth manufacturer to sign up for the UK’s premier drive and decide event for fleets – the Greener Company Car in Action which this year features eight models making their UK debuts.

 

The Japanese manufacturer joins BMW, Chevrolet, Citroen, Ford, Honda, Kia, Lexus, Mini, Peugeot, Toyota and Vauxhall at the free to attend event, taking place at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire from June 16 to 18.

And in a separate move Peugeot has confirmed that it will be giving its new 3008 crossover vehicle its UK debut at the event.

Other models making their UK debuts are:

  • BMW 116d
  • Citroen C3 Picasso
  • Ford Transit Connect and Transit Econetic
  • Lexus RX450h
  • Toyota Prius
  • Vauxhall Insignia Ecoflex.

Mazda will be joining a host of other manufacturers at the free event. They are:

  • BMW: Wide range of sub-160g/km models, plus a preview of a new model in a special VIP area.
  • Chevrolet: New Cruze lower-medium diesel saloon.
  • Citroen: Examples of the entire car range, plus the full line-up of LCVs.
  • Ford: Econetic versions of the Fiesta, Focus and Mondeo.
  • Honda: New Insight hybrid, Civic, Accord, CR-V, Jazz and FR-V.
  • Kia: Soul, Picanto and Cee’d ranges.
  • Lexus: the new 148g/km IS220d.
  • Mini: 104g/km Cooper D diesel.
  • Peugeot: Entire range available, including the new 308 CC and van models.
  • Toyota: Avensis range with Toyota Optimal Drive.
  • Vauxhall: Full Ecoflex range – Agila, Corsa, Astra and Zafira.

Fleet managers will also be given a free, exclusive demonstration of how to cut fuel costs by experts from the Energy Saving Trust at the event.

A team from the Trust’s Smarter Driving programme will demonstrate how making simple changes to driving techniques can improve fuel consumption by around 15%.
