Honda has become the sole fleet car supplier for Simplyhealth.

Simplyhealth will take delivery of 40 Hondas in 2009 and eventually replace the company’s entire 175-car fleet.

The Insight and Civic Hybrid will account for about 160 vehicles, reflecting the company’s commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.

Staff will be charged the lowest benefit-in-kind tax bracket of 10%.

The company will benefit from reduced national insurance contributions, 100% write down allowance, exemption for the congestion charge and lower fuel bills.

The remaining models will be Honda Accords.

“Customers are increasingly recognising the cost benefits of running Honda hybrids on their fleets as well as the reputation benefits that come with adopting ‘greener’ practices,” said Graham Avent, manager – corporate operations for Honda.

All the vehicles are being supplied by Honda Colchester, part of the Inchcape dealer group.

Inchcape Fleet Solutions, which operates a UK fleet of more than 50,000 vehicles, will manage the new contract.
