PEUGEOT has enjoyed a strong start to the year, boosted by the introduction to the auction floor at BCA of the 307 CC and 206 GTi 180.

So far, more than 1,200 Peugeot cars have been sold in four sales at BCA Brighouse, Blackbushe and Measham.

At Brighouse on February 10, 285 cars sold for a 96.6% conversion that generated a turnover of £2.3 million. More than 50 buyers attended the sale with additional Live Online bidders also participating.

Jenny Purchase-Relph, operations and sales executive for BCA, said: 'These sales saw strong bidding across the Peugeot model range with an excellent performance against Glass's Guide.

'Peugeot product is highly sought after in both open and closed sales and this clearly reflects the strong retail demand being reported by dealers.'

Demand from Peugeot dealers and approved buyers has been climbing and so far in 2004 Peugeot has averaged 94% conversion rates and generated a turnover approaching £10 million.

The new 307 CC achieved a top value of £16,300, equivalent to 92.6% of current list price, and the 206 GTi 180 sold for £12,200, or 84.2% of current list.

Phil Robson, Peugeot's manager – used vehicle operations, said: 'We have enjoyed excellent results in our first sales of the year with demand across the range. The bidding from our dealers is very confident and underlines the desirability of the Peugeot product within the market-place.'
