PALight – emergency torch

THE PALight is a palm-size LED torch providing hours of light in an emergency. The torch can be seen up to a mile away and can be used in roadside emergencies, breakdowns and for night-time repairs.

It can be stored in a glove box compartment or toolbox and is available with green, blue, red or white lights.

The torch can be used in four modes. Mode one emits a permanent glow to enable drivers to find the torch in the dark. Mode two provides 200 hours of 'soft beam' light, mode three has 100 hours with a flashing strobe light and mode four has 40 hours of bright light, suitable as a flashlight.

    Hazlight emergency kit

    THE Hazlight emergency kit is regularly used by blue-light fleets but can also be used by regular fleet operators.

    The kit includes five studs that produce flashing lights which can be seen almost a mile away and are automatically activated when removed from the carrying case. The studs are placed around the vehicle in the event of an emergency.

    Batteries are not needed as the carrying case acts as a charger when plugged into a 12V socket.

    Roadside emergency kit

    The roadside emergency kit comes in a plastic carrying case which fits into the vehicle's boot.

    It includes a red plastic warning triangle, torch, spare batteries and flashing illuminator light for use in the event of either a breakdown or an emergency.

    The emergency lamp is a magnetic amber rotating beacon. It works off a 12v cigarette socket and attaches to the top of the vehicle to alert drivers that the vehicle is stationary.

    AA European safety kit

    THE AA's Motoring Abroad Safety Kit includes safety equipment which prepares motorists for driving on the opposite side to the road as well as emergency aid equipment.

    The kit includes a red warning triangle and first aid kit encased in a hard carrier box. It has a universal set of bulbs for motoring abroad, so drivers are able to change headlights in an emergency, and there are also beam converters to ensure lights are correct for the opposite side of the road.

    A magnetic GB sticker is included to warn other drivers that it is a righthand-drive vehicle. The equipment is included in a black holdall which can fit in the boot of the car.

    RAC essential motoring kit

    THE RAC safety kit is contained in a blue canvas -style carry bag. The kit includes a red safety-warning triangle for inside and outside vehicle use.
