SEVEN teams from across the UK fleet industry competed in the second heat of the 2004 Kwik-Fit Fleet National Karting Challenge in association with Fleet News.

Racing in the West Midlands heat at the Birmingham Wheels RAC Circuit was fast and furious with Lloyds TSB autolease and Carillion Fleet Services fighting tooth and nail for leadership throughout the two-hour endurance race.

After 165 laps it was Lloyds TSB autolease which narrowly emerged victorious with Carillion Fleet Services second. Interleasing beat Arval PHH's major customer division by three seconds to claim the third qualifying spot for the grand final at the Daytona circuit in Milton Keynes in June.

Yesterday (May 6) eight teams are scheduled to battle it out in the East Midlands qualifying heat at Whilton Mill, near Daventry. Six nationwide heats are being held with 12 teams set to qualify for the grand final with defending champions Venson Public Sector already through from the first heat.
