LAND Rover has revealed the shape of what could be a baby Range Rover, designed to tackle the BMW X5.

The design study was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor Show to show the benefits of an all-new platform the company is working on.

Matthew Taylor, managing director of Land Rover, said: 'Our investment in Solihull and an all-new dedicated Land Rover platform will really start to take shape.

'This is a design rendering that will inspire our future product line-up and also gives a strong hint of one of our future models. I can't reveal any details but I can assure you this will be one of the most exciting Land Rover vehicles ever to take a show podium. 'It will enter a new sector for us and will help drive our business forward.'
