Plug-in hybrids are becoming increasingly important as car manufacturers strive to hit average CO2 emission targets set by the European Union, and increasingly appealing as company cars with lower BIK tax rates than conventional diesel and petrol cars.
The 530e has CO2 emissions of 46g/km and a pure electric range of up to 29 miles on its plug-in charge.
The 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine and electric motor combined produce 252PS and 459Nm of torque, allowing the car to accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.2 seconds.
