These topics were the focus of a roundtable debate at the Fleet200 Strategy Network table debate at the September meeting.

Among the key points raised by the contributors were:

•            There is still a huge issue regarding rural charging availability and organisations that operate in such environments will not meet the implementation target dates

•            Certain fleet operations still struggling to find suitable ICE asset replacement and at one level there is not a viable alternative that won’t impact their business

•            The cost of charging infrastructure replacement is a huge commercial burden

•            Several of the fleets current locations could not support the charging infrastructure

•            Charger obsolescence for early adopters is now becoming a real issue, and the cost of replacement for what the devices do is “ridiculous”

•            In an ideal world taking drivers out of the equation “would be ideal”

•            Resistance from drivers for telematics is still prevalent.
