KWIK-FIT has handled its 500,000th customer this year and will next year roll out a mobile vehicle servicing operation after acquiring a third of Hometune.

Kwik-Fit fleet managing director Ron Bambra said profits had continued to grow despite unit prices remaining static or going down. 'Our performance in the area of competitive pricing is we believe, outstanding, especially when viewed against an increase in the volume of lower-profile tyres that traditionally are more expensive than 70 and 80 series tyres,' he said.

'It is our buying power coupled to a total commitment to bring value to the market place which continues to ensure our customers receive the highest levels of service and value for money.' The new mobile servicing venture will allow fleet operators to have their vehicles serviced anywhere at a saving of around 25% over franchised dealer charges.
