ABBEY National has signed a two-year dual badge deal with Vauxhall and Rover which marks the end of the previous Rover solus contract. Milton Keynes-based Abbey National operates 2,200 vehicles and Vauxhall and Rover won the contract following a lengthy tender process involving seven manufacturers.

Abbey National did operate a multi-choice fleet policy with Rover as the preferred supplier, before moving to a one-year solus deal with Rover in February 1995. Now the dual badge deal is being implemented and, at the same time, the organisation has changed its fleet replacement cycle from four years/60,000 miles which it has operated for the last four years to three years/54,000 miles - the average replacement mileage.
