THE nearest repair centre to the site of an accident can now be more quickly and easily identified with new postcoded software developed by AutoManagement. By feeding the address of the accident site into the new system, a list of the five closest repair centres is automatically compiled so that the vehicle can be recovered immediately.

It also reveals which bodyshops are members of approved schemes run by insurers and which are part of AutoManagement's own first and second tier networks. The initiative is the latest in a number of improvements to AutoManagement's IT systems following the company's acquisition by Evans Halshaw Vehicle Management Services in January. AutoManagement has more than 50,000 vehicles under accident management and deals with an average of 1,200 incidents a month.
