CITROEN has increased specification and slashed prices of the entire Xantia range following the introduction of a brace of new flagship diesel and petrol models. Hard on the heels of the launch of the 3.0 V6 and the 2.1 turbodiesel, the French manufacturer has realigned the rest of its upper medium range.

Prices fall by as much as £650 in the case of the 2.0 Turbo VSX, while key SX models get an Alcantara suede interior, alloy wheels, spoiler and body-coloured bumpers in addition to automatic air conditioning - which is already standard. LX prices increase slightly, but the base model now gets suede trim, fog lamps, electric mirrors and body-coloured bumpers, while all VSX models get standard leather upholstery - previously a £1,065 option.
