A COMPETITION has been held to find the best company car driver in central Scotland. The event, hosted by Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, Lex Vauxhall and the Institute of Advanced Motorists, was won by Glasgow insurance broker Stephen Taylor, proprietor of HD Mortgage & Insurance Services.

He saw off challenges from 39 other competitors during a series of Tarmac and green field driving tests, scored and adjudicated by experts from the IAM. Stages included on-road defensive driving techniques, assessment in a skid simulator, a test of manoeuvring skills in a Corsa and all-terrain Frontera driving over an Army-constructed 4x4 obstacle course.
