TRAFFIC police have put out an appeal to fleet operators to help them track down a hit-and-run driver who killed an elderly pedestrian in south London earlier this year. The Metropolitan Police want to trace the driver of a white box or cube van with a roller shutter who knocked over the 77-year-old victim in Camberwell Green just after midday on Saturday, April 26.

Officers have no registered number nor further description of the vehicle other than a 'small removals van'. They are certain the vehicle would have sustained front end damage in the collision and are asking any rental companies or fleet operators who recorded a vehicle returned in such a condition to contact them.
