ROBINS & DAY Leasing has joined forces with driver training specialists NDI and Eagle Star to offer a unique one-stop insurance package for small fleets. In an industry-leading initiative, the three-way partnership will offer fixed price insurance cover over three years to fleets which agree to undertake an NDI driver training package and fit Thatcham-approved immobilisers to their vehicles.

Initially only available through Robins & Day to fleets of up to 20 vehicles, the package is expected to be rolled out to larger fleets inside a year. For a fixed standard price, which can be split over 36 months and included in contract hire payments, fleets get full insurance cover for their vehicles regardless of their claims experience.

Eagle Star commercial motor manager Roger Thrift said: 'We know there are some really tangible benefits from driver training - this is just a means of bringing them to the fore while simplifying the process and helping with the pricing. There is an advantage to us because there's an element of controlled risk, but the client also benefits from known, fixed costs and the additional benefits from driver training such as reduced fuel consumption and vehicle wear and tear.'
