BRITISH Car Contracts has signed a 135-vehicle sale and leaseback deal with wallcoverings, fibres and home products manufacturer Readicut International. It will also supply a further 105 Vauxhalls, Fords and Rovers, on contract hire. Yorkshire-based Readicut previously bought vehicles, but wanted a cash injection plus the fixed monthly payments of contract hire with maintenance.

It chose the BCC package, which includes provision of the Consort software, following a four-way competitive pitch. Readicut assistant company secretary Paula Watts, said: 'Buying vehicles through our own transport company is no longer practical from a financial point of view. It involved large capital outlay, high maintenance costs and limited choice of vehicle. Sale and leaseback has freed that capital lump sum, enabling us to invest further in the growth of the company.'
