VAUXHALL increased prices by an average of 1% across its car and light commercial vehicle range last Monday. No specification enhancements accompany the price rises, which follow similar increases by Ford and Volkswagen.

The volume-selling Astra LS 1.4i five-door hatchback now costs £150 more at £12,795 on-the-road, while the price of the Vectra LS 1.8i hatchback has risen by 2.6% to £15,445 (£15,050). Only the Omega and the Sintra 2.2i CD five- and seven-seaters have escaped the price rise.

Sample new delivered prices include: Corsa LS 1.0 12v three-door £9,130 (£9,110), Corsa 1.7D five-door £10,515 (£10,495); Astra LS 1.6i five-door £13,190 (£13,045), Astra LS 1.7 D turbo estate £14,365 (£14,220); Vectra Envoy 1.6i five-door £!4,320 (£13,950), Vectra LS 2.0 TDi £16,740 (£16,350); Vectra LS 2.0i estate £16,240 (£15,850).
