DAEWOO is reinforcing the wholelife costs of its cars with a revolutionary residual value guarantee for fleets on its Lanos, Nubira and Leganza ranges. The manufacturer will boost the peace of mind package already provided by free servicing, warranty and AA cover for three years/60,000 miles, by guaranteeing the prices its cars fetch through auction.

The scheme follows fleet initiatives by Peugeot and Volkswagen to introduce a greater degree of certainty on car's wholelife costs - Peugeot guaranteeing the fuel consumption of its cars and Volkswagen pledging the pence per mile running costs of its cars at least match those of mainstream rivals from Ford and Vauxall. Daewoo's programme is available to larger solus and dual badge fleets which run more than 50 Daewoo cars, but specifically excludes leasing and contract hire companies and their brokers.

Fleets must dispose of cars on the scheme through Daewoo's nominated auction network, and the auction company must confirm that the cars meet end-of-contract wear and tear stipulations. Cars which fail to meet the required standard will still be covered by the scheme, but the residual value will be reduced to cover the cost of any work necessary.
