THE Association of Car Fleet Operators is discussing the future of its Fleet Business Day after deciding to cancel this year's event. ACFO is said to have decided that there are already too many fleet events in the market and it has questioned whether another one is needed.

The Fleet Business Day, due to take place on September 23, is only in its second year and was expected to feature a fleet question time with a panel of experts and an awards ceremony for Fleet Car of the Year and Fleet Van of the Year. Chairman Tony Leigh would not reveal details of the discussions behind the decision to cancel, but said talks were now taking place with members about whether to hold the event next year or incorporate it into the association's annual meeting.

He said attendance levels had not been behind the decision and added: 'There is so much else going on in the market that we decided there were already too many other events right now.'
