A GROWING recognition of the importance of formal training for fleet managers has led to management changes at specialist training company Fleet Audits so it can enhance its service to industry. Chris Chandler has been appointed director of training for the consultancy, which he joined two years ago.

He was already responsible for the content and organisation of courses and his promotion to the newly-created position will allow him to create more courses for fleet managers and prepare them for the challenges ahead. Stewart Whyte, managing director of Fleet Audits, said: 'Demand for places on all our courses has increased and Chris will ensure that the content remains relevant to the needs of fleet managers today and tomorrow.'

In the past three months, the consultancy has completed four courses involving 37 students, including three from Sri Lanka and one from a Ukrainian company. Chandler said: 'It is obvious that the UK is maintaining its position as a world centre of excellence in fleet management.'
