RENAULT has released its latest price list, and with it comes a number of price rises, although in some cases there is effectively a price drop as the company absorbs the extra £5 cost of the Budget VED increase and keeps some on-the-road prices the same.

Effective from March 23 the list reveals there are no changes to the prices of the Megane and Scenic ranges, except for the £5 increase in VED. The entry Clio will remain at £7,995 OTR with Renault absorbing the £5 increase, and the Si and 16v only go up by the increase in VED. The rest of the Clio range goes up by an average of 0.5%.

The Laguna range also sees complicated changes with no increase for the 1.6-litre-engined RN, RT and Alize, or the 1.9 DTi. But the rest of the range goes up by an average of 0.9%, putting about £150 on list price. This means that the 1.8-litre-engined RT Sport 16v has increased in price from £15,700 to £15,855 OTR, the 3.0-litre RTi V6 goes up from £18,620 to £18,775, and the 2.0-litre Executive 16v increases from £19,020 to £19,175.

There are increases in the Espace range, with the RT-X 2.0-litre increasing from £21,270 to £21,475. Similarly the range-topping Safrane goes up to £21,910 OTR for the Executive 2.0-litre 16v from £21,705. There is also an increase on the van range, including the Kangoo, Trafic and Master, which increases by an average of 0.9%. Renault has confirmed the pricing for its new Clio van at a retail £7,850.
