POWERMARQUE has clinched a three-year deal with the Environment Agency to manage its 450-strong commercial vehicle fleet, plus its 45-strong boat fleet, for the north east region district. The deal sees the Huntingdon-based contract hire and fleet management company manage all of the vehicles and boats on a contract maintenance basis.

Powermarque has also taken over the Environment Agency's depot in York with all staff transferring to Powermarque contracts. As well as traditional fleet management elements, the contract is also to supply unique services to the agency, such as flood defence support, transporting large plant vehicles across country, and a 24-hour emergency mobile repair service.

Roger Hyde, the agency's regional general manager said: 'It was very important to find a company that could offer all the traditional elements of managing a fleet combined with an ability to provide services unique to the agency's requirement. Having worked with Powermarque over the last five years we were very confident that it could meet our needs and deliver an excellent service.'
