A FIRM offering real-time vehicle tracking and location information direct to a PC, laptop or even a mobile telephone is targeting fleets.
Using a basic tracking unit, the CarBug system can track one vehicle, with a corporate/fleet system able to track up to 10,000 vehicles on a single screen.
A new system under development will be connected to the vehicle's airbag system and will automatically notify the firm's call centre if the vehicle is in a collision, while also recording the last 30 seconds of movement.
Darren Edmonds, CarBug representative, said: 'CarBug is comparable in price to a quality car alarm, yet has infinitely more uses. It can also be fitted covertly to vehicles. One fleet manager fitted it to the vehicle of a driver who was covering excessively high mileage. He found the driver's wife was using it as a pizza delivery vehicle in the evenings.'
