TODAY Fleet NewsNet's sister title Fleet News launches its annual survey of the state of the leasing and contract hire industry in Britain – the Fleet News 50.

Despite falling residual values and fears over the effect of new car pricing changes, this year's survey shows the UK's Top 50 contract hire companies have enjoyed growth which has seen the total leased car parc increase by more than 11 per cent. This signals a recovery from the near stagnation of last year, when the industry fleet grew by just 0.1%, and is despite Motability fleets being removed from fleet sizes.

As well as the listing of the Top 50 companies, this year's FN50, unveiled at a gala dinner in London tonight, also includes industry overviews from tax experts, and analysis of the current state of residual values, the growth of the internet in fleet, alternative fuels and other key industry issues.

A brief summary of the survey findings and a list of the new top 10 biggest players will appear on Fleet NewsNet later this week and the full report will be available to order online. Copies will also be included with Friday's edition of Fleet News.
