The five-year contract involves the sale and leaseback of 300 vehicles with the remainder of the fleet moving to contract hire or contract purchase. SSG previously managed all aspects of the fleet in-house. Powermarque has also taken over the management of the workshops and installed an IT system which controls the management of the leasing company's service centre. Powermarque won the contract in a European tender from 20 competitors.
Huntingdon-based Powermarque also revealed it will supply Hampshire-based daily rental company AVH with 230 Ford Transits and 80 Ford Courier vans worth about £5 million. Powermarque sales and marketing director Paul Mckay said he was hopeful that the deal would see AVH order a further 100 vehicles in the next three months. Meanwhile, Calleva is in the process of supplying 500 light commercial vehicles and 100 cars to Northampton-based West Midland Vehicle Rentals. Powermarque also announced a three-year contract to supply 50 cars and 70 vans to Poole-based Cobra Installations.
