MORE fleet industry support is required for the company car leg of the Island Race - Britain's biggest charity run. The round-Britain run takes place this summer and FNN's sister publication, Fleet News, has joined forces with Kwik-Fit Fleet to promote the fleet leg of the event, which will cover the 43 miles from Woodham Ferrers, near Chelmsford, to Purfleet on June 6.
Since the company car leg was launched at the Fleet Show last month, support - both in terms of runners and cash - has been coming in, but more is needed. It is hoped that 100 companies in the fleet arena will put up a runner or runners who will be tasked with raising £1,000 each - thereby reaching the Fleet News/Kwik-Fit Fleet target of £100,000.
If companies can't provide their own runner(s), Kwik-Fit Fleet will provide one and then seek 100 companies prepared to pledge £1,000 towards that individual competing. For details, including entry forms, the return of entry forms and pledges, contact Matthew Weight on 01733 467035.
