Previously TNT's UK business was split between National and Kenning Car and Van Rental. The new agreement places the deal among National's top 25 UK account wins. TNT group fleet procurement manager Simon Boggis said National's internet capability was crucial in the company winning the business.
He added: 'Its web-based reservations system will give us more control over the rental business and eliminate phone calls, saving time and money. ' TNT has more than 300 locations in the UK, where it employs 12,000 people and worldwide the company operates in more than 200 countries and employs more than 100,000 people.
Globally National, which has outlets in around 70 countries, supplies rental cars to TNT staff along with Budget and already global rates have been agreed. National's senior international account director Kathy Johnson said: 'The introduction of a global car rental programme is a natural progression for both companies that will be implemented and developed over the coming months.'
