BP Amoco has unveiled a new logo - a 'vibrant sunburst of green, while and yellow' known as the Helios mark after the sun god of ancient Greece - which will replace the famous BP shield of 28,000 forecourts worldwide, company vehicles, offices, manufacturing plants and correspondence.

The company also announced that it will now be known as BP and filling stations will feature in-store e-kiosks where customers can check weather and traffic conditions, pay without cash or credit cards and call up directions to local destinations. Touch-screen technology at the pumps will see motorists able to order food, which will be waiting for them inside the shop, where they can monitor the latest news and football scores.
