The Electrolux contract is GetThere's first travel procurement win in Europe and includes car rental as well as flight and hotel bookings. GetThere said the deal will 'help it to build momentum in Europe'.
Electrolux has a worldwide annual travel budget of $125 million and the company says it is implementing the GetThere online system to reduce corporate travel costs while providing travellers with 'an easy-to-use tool that offers the flexibility to book their own business trips online around the clock'.
Electrolux has 95,000 employees and offices in 60 countries around the world and the company will first implement the GetThere system at its headquarters in Sweden before rolling it out to surrounding countries such as Norway, Finland and Denmark, with other countries to follow.
'The GetThere system provides Electrolux with a robust technology infrastructure that will allow us to roll out a comprehensive online travel programme, regardless of country location,' said Electrolux global travel manager Jo Hamburger. 'Not only will this positively impact our travel budget, but will provide the company's travellers with a new level of service for their business travel needs.'
Companies working as suppliers with GetThere include Avis Rent a Car, Budget Rent a Car, Hertz Corporation and its customers include Boeing, Cisco, Lucent, Nike and Xerox.
