SEAT is to launch the UK's most powerful sub-£14,000 hatchback in October. The new Ibiza Cupra, which has a 156bhp 1.8-litre petrol turbo engine, will cost £1,000 less than its Cupra Sport predecessor at £13,995 on-the-road.

The three-door's 0-62mph acceleration is 7.9 seconds and top speed is 135mph. Combined fuel economy is 36.2mpg and carbon dioxide emissions 187g/km. Standard equipment includes 'set and forget' air-conditioning, side airbags, ABS, traction control, alarm and remote central locking, trip computer, six-speaker audio, one-touch electric windows, part-leather upholstery, 16-inch alloys and heated door mirrors.
