PEUGEOT and BMW were both claiming 'outstanding' success after staging auctions at BCA Blackbushe. At Peugeot's first Lion Used Car closed sale of the year the company saw a record number of buyers registered - 90 dealers - as the manufacturer sold all 300 cars.

Bidding realised an average of 103% of CAP 'clean', raising almost £2.5 million. Cars on offer from the manufacturer included the full car range alongside the Partner, Expert and Boxer light commercials.

Strong sellers during the day included a 00V 106, with 12,000 miles that sold for £5,800, or 113.1% of CAP 'clean', a 97R 106 1.5 XAD van with 27,000 miles that made £3,200 (129.2%), a 98S 206 1.4 LX 3dr, with 15,000 on the clock that sold for £7,050 (120.0%), a 99V 206 1.4 GLX 5dr with 7,000 miles, which made £8,900 (110.2%) and a 00V 306 1.6 LX estate, with 12,000 miles that sold for £9,600 (119.6%).

Other prices achieved were: 99V 306 2.0 Meridian D estate, 25,000 miles, sold for £9,600, (120.0%), 00V 406 2.0 LX D estate, 11,000 miles, sold for £12,000 (113.7%); 99V 406 2.0 L HDI, 25,000 miles, sold for £8,000 (106.6%); 00W 806 2.0 seven-seat GTX estate, 7,000 miles, sold for £14,700 (111.3%).

Meanwhile, BMW (GB) and BMW Financial Services Group sold all 140 cars, achieving an average of 113% of CAP 'clean' during a recent sale. The event featured the auction debut of the X5, BMW's recently launched sports activity vehicle. Seven X-plated examples of the X5 models were offered and sold for an average of £47,120, equivalent to 93% of current list price.
