VAUXHALL is targeting fleets with a new 'personalised' key service available on the new Vectra when it is launched next year.

The firm will offer fleet managers up to five keys for the same vehicle, each with a unique code so the car can recognise the driver.

The Vectra will then change the settings of the driver's mirror, door mirrors and, where fitted, those of the electric driver's seat.

A spokesman for Vauxhall said: 'We expect this service to be particularly useful where there may be several users of a particular vehicle.'

The multi-key feature would also help with the expensive problem of drivers locking themselves out of their cars, as a spare would always be available with a named driver.
