BRITISH Sky Broadcasting is replacing its entire installation and service fleet with 1,000 Citroen Berlingo vans. The deal is worth more than £10 million at showroom prices and is Citroen's biggest single order for commercial vehicles.

All 1,000 Citroen Berlingo 600D LX vans will be delivered by February. Sky previously had a mixed fleet of Vauxhall Combo vans and Citroen Berlingo vans.

The Berlingo vans are being supplied through two Citroen dealers. Springfield Citroen, Gateshead, is supplying 700 and Armadale-based Arnold Clark is supplying 300. Van Liners, Bolton, is supplying and fitting the vans with load area ply lining, internal racking and roof racks.

The vehicles will be run on a two-year with maintenance contract hire agreement with ARVAL PHH, and will cover 40,000 miles over the two years.

Mark Henderson, Sky's fleet manager, said: 'A previous order for 500 Berlingos proved these vans are well suited to our business requirements. The addition of a side door makes the Berlingo an efficient business choice.'
