A FLEET is expecting to make fuel savings of at least £60,000 a year from choosing Dualfuel Vauxhall Astravans. Lonco Industrial Services, based in Rainham, Essex, has already taken delivery of 70 Dualfuel Astravans with another 30 to come.

Managing director Peter Sarbutt says that as well as enhancing the company's 'green' credentials, the vehicles will each save £600 or more annually through the use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). After labour and equipment, vehicles are Lonco's third largest cost - accounting for 13% of annual expenditure.

Sarbutt said: 'Anything we can do to reduce transport costs plays a significant part in our bottom line.'

Lonco's fleet of 120 vehicles is 95 per cent Vauxhall and its leased vehicles, through Lex, are supplied by J Toomey Motors, Basildon.

Phil Hobbs, Vauxhall fleet sales manager, said: 'Lonco will be operating one of the largest single-badge fleets of Vauxhall Dualfuel vehicles, and with a new order for a dleet of Dualfuel versions of the new Combo can they are likely to be the first Dualfuel Combo customers.'
