MERCEDES-Benz is the latest manufacturer to sign up to Fleet Show 2001 with a planned four UK debuts at the event. The revamped A-class and a long wheelbase version of the car will be making their first UK appearance at the May 1-3 show, before going on sale in early June.

Its stand will also play host to the C-class estate and Sports Coupe, both of which go in sale about two weeks after the show. With the list of exhibitors already totalling about 50 firms, fleet managers have been flocking to sign up to the show at Alexandra Palace, London, with about 500 fleets signing up within 48 hours of booking lines opening.

They cover a combined estimated fleet size of 400,000 vehicles. Making drivers safer on the road to help in the battle to cut costs will be a high-profile part of the event. Driver training firms including Defensive Driver Training, DriveTech and Driving Services are attending the event.
