SKODA is to launch an executive-sized car at an upper medium car price in the UK in spring next year. Launched as the Geneva Motor Show as a 'design study', Skoda officials say the vehicle, known as the Montreux, will be launched as a production car at September's Frankfurt International Motor Show.

Based on a stretched Volkswagen Passat platform, the vehicle looks to have a huge interior. Few details of the car are available, but it is understood that when the car enters UK showrooms its target audience will be drivers of upper-medium sector cars looking for a larger vehicle without paying a higher price. The vehicle, it is claimed, will offer similar 'value-for-money packaging' as the Skoda Fabia and Octavia.
