FLEETS have been reassured that their service is unlikely to be affected by a review which will see 32 Daewoo sales and service centres at Halfords stores close. Daewoo had 74 centres at Halfords stores across Britain, but the company said it would not pose a problem for fleet customers.

A spokesman for the importer said: 'Our fleet customers tend to deal with our larger centres, which will remain open and have dedicated fleet specialists.' Halfords will still offer complete servicing, repair and warranty work to all Daewoo drivers in the 32 affected stores through the Halfords Garages operation.

It has arranged with Daewoo to run the sites as Daewoo Approved Service Centres (DASC), but they will no longer be staffed by Daewoo personnel. Daewoo customers still eligible for the three years' free servicing and warranty work will no longer benefit from either collection or delivery of their car or a courtesy car. However, the remaining 42 Daewoo sales and service centres within the Halfords network will still have Daewoo staff as well as the Daewoo network of outlets.
