PENDRAGON Automotive Services has launched a new £1.5 million internet-based contract hire division, targeted at fleets of 200 or more vehicles. Called Pendragon-i, the new division is developed from Pendragon Contracts, and is looking to serve clients through both traditional and hi-tech channels.

Fleet managers will be able to contact a call centre with queries, but will also be able to use the internet to manage their fleets. Pendragon-i offers two levels of access - one for fleet managers with a banding facility, maintenance options and vehicle and driver reporting systems.

Fleet drivers will be able to access a less sophisticated version, which lists the vehicles available to them in their company-specific bands. Pendragon-i director Ken Trinder said: 'With the creation of Pendragon-i, we believe we have created the most advanced major contract hire operation in the UK.'

Pendragon-i is part of the Pendragon Group, which has two other leasing firms - c2K onLine for smaller fleets and tins.co.uk for private motorists.
