AUDI has set a series of diesel speed records with the A2, A4 and A8 at Millbrook, Bedfordshire, and Bruntingthorpe, Leicestershire.

The cars set average speeds of 109, 129 and 150mph respectively over a 5km flying start, while they also returned 31mpg, 19mpg and 15mpg during the runs. The cars were a standard A2 1.4 TDI, an A4 1.9 TDI 130 and an A8 3.3 TDI quattro, the latter currently unavailable in the UK.
